KnowBe4 chooses Drata as GRC partner for security and compliance automation

KnowBe4 is moving its KnowBe4 compliance manager offering to a support-only model and proposes Drata as the preferred option for migration

US-based KnowBe4 has selected Drata, a continuous security and compliance automation platform, as its exclusive governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) partner and preferred compliance automation platform.

KnowBe4 is a security awareness training and simulated phishing platform. Its KnowBe4 compliance manager (KCM) offering is being transitioned into a support-only model by the company which has proposed Drata as the preferred option for migration.

Both firms have an existing integration, serving 300 joint customers, which facilitates significant time savings by automating the collection of evidence for personnel’s security awareness training.

KnowBe4 has advised its clients to migrate from KCM to Drata to continuously maintain and grow their GRC programmes. The former intends to stop support for KCM, which was built with compliance, risk, policy, and vendor risk management modules.

Founded by Stu Sjouwerman, KnowBe4 is said to cater to over 60,000 institutions around the world to manage the prevailing problem of social engineering.

Sjouwerman said: “Following a strategic review of KnowBe4’s long-term product roadmap, we decided to move KCM GRC to a support-only model. We then completed a thorough review of alternate options to best meet the needs of our KCM customers.

”Drata was top of mind as an option because they provide a best-in-class compliance offering through their automation platform, an outstanding customer experience and integrate with other KnowBe4 products. For these reasons, we ultimately decided to choose their offering for our customers.”

According to Drata, it features more than 16 compliance frameworks and over 80 integrations with essential systems and applications to modernise the GRC experience.

The security and compliance automation platform’s clients can develop customised risk and compliance programmes and utilise key products like trust centre, risk management, and open API for complete visibility into their security compliance posture.

Drata co-founder and CEO Adam Markowitz said: “Being selected as KnowBe4’s exclusive GRC partner reaffirms Drata’s leadership in the market and our unmatched commitment to delivering exceptional customer experience.

“Whether it’s a company that is brand new to compliance or migrating from other platforms, our risk and compliance automation offerings can be easily configured to fit all business needs.”
