CRB Group introduces fintech investment banking division

The new franchise will help its customers meet their strategic goals by advising on their most crucial decisions, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), capital markets transactions and other corporate finance matters

CRB Group, the parent company of Cross River Bank and CRB Securities, has launched a new investment banking franchise to serve the fintech community.

The new franchise will help its customers meet their strategic goals by advising on their most crucial decisions. It will include mergers and acquisitions (M&A), capital markets transactions and other corporate finance matters.

CRB Group’s new investment banking team will be a part of CRB Securities and will be led by Benjamin Samuels and Henry Pinnell as co-heads of investment banking.

Pinnell said: “I could not be more thrilled by the opportunity we have to offer the fintech community a differentiated suite of solutions coupled with unique insights informed by our own differentiated place in the fintech ecosystem.

“The team has hit the ground running already and we are excited to build alongside the industry over the coming months.”

By leveraging extensive experience, network and expertise in banking, the investment banking team will offer a truly comprehensive portfolio of services to its fintech clients.

Supporting clients with privately placed credit transactions, including asset-backed securities has been the primary focus of CRB Securities to date.

According to the parties, its decision to expand into investment banking comes at a time of increasing demand for creative solutions in fintech.

Established in 2008, Cross River offers innovative and scalable embedded payments, cards, and lending solutions to millions of consumers and businesses.

Cross River founder and CEO Gilles Gade said: “We are proud to launch our investment banking division of our broker dealer with two well-respected professionals in the industry, combining decades of experience in both the fintech industry and capital markets.

“Ben and Henry are tasked with enhancing even further our product offering to our fintech partners and beyond, enabling us to solve the distinct needs of each and every client.”
