Indian lender Yes Bank has adopted Azure Red Hat OpenShift to transform its mobile banking experience for customers.
Through the collaboration with open-source solutions provider Red Hat, Yes Bank aims to accelerate its digital journey with faster time to market, better flexibility and the ability to power greater innovation.
According to Red Hat, the new platform will allow the Indian bank to enhance customer experience and offer new banking solutions by introducing security-focused and effective modern applications.
The applications are expected to be more agile and flexible to scale on demand, supporting the bank with their growth initiatives of serving clients across India.
With headquarters in Mumbai, Yes Bank is a full-service commercial bank that delivers a comprehensive range of products, services, and technology-driven digital offerings.
Azure Red Hat OpenShift is expected to help the bank develop next-gen mobile applications and to create a seamless customer experience across various banking solutions.
Besides, the platform is believed to offer security features to the bank to address the raising demands of the market.
Yes Bank CIO Mahesh Ramamoothy said: “In today’s digitally-driven world, agility is paramount. With Azure Red Hat OpenShift, we can promptly respond to customer demands while also having the assurance that our platform is constructed on cutting-edge cloud and cloud-native infrastructure.
“This provides us with a security-focused, robust, and scalable foundation that we require to lead the charge of digital-native banking in India.”
Azure Red Hat OpenShift, which was launched in 2019, is said to be the first co-developed, jointly-operated Red Hat OpenShift service on the public cloud.
It offers clients the same enterprise-grade Kubernetes used in private data centres with the scale of Microsoft Azure.
Red Hat South Asia vice president and general manager Marshal Correia said: “Azure Red Hat OpenShift enables large financial institutions like Yes Bank to stay abreast of ever-changing customer needs and continuously evolve their digital transformation journeys.
“Red Hat is committed to providing hybrid cloud solutions that enable banks to deliver capabilities faster while effectively managing risk. With Azure Red Hat OpenShift, YES BANK is able to focus on delivering cloud-native innovation all while meeting the stringent requirements of sensitive workloads.”
