Global digital payments company Visa has partnered with security operations provider Expel to support customers across the globe in managing cybersecurity risk.
Through the partnership, Visa extends its value-added services offering in the emerging managed detection and response (MDR) segment to clients in different parts of the world.
Both parties aim to work together to make it easier for customers to anticipate and safeguard against cyber threats.
The partnership between the companies will enable customers to shift from a reactive security posture to a proactive posture to focus on risk-based decision making.
It will also offer increased threat detection and response capabilities along with visibility across attack surfaces including cloud, on-premises, software as a service (SaaS) applications, and Kubernetes.
Besides, the partnership will help reduce time in managing security operations and dedicating resources to other high-priority initiatives.
Furthermore, the collaboration will support Visa to build on its advanced internal cybersecurity capabilities to help develop a more secure ecosystem.
Visa will start offering Expel’s solution to its clients within the US and Canada. It also plans to launch the solution globally.
Visa risk and identity solutions global head James Mirfin said: “As customers deal with an ever-expanding range of threats, they’re asking Visa for solutions to help them better manage their risk holistically, including cyber risk.
“The partnership with Expel will allow us to provide a more holistic security offering to new and existing clients across the network.”
Based in the US, Expel delivers managed detection and response, phishing, remediation, vulnerability prioritisation, and threat hunting.
Expel MDR automatically stops threats from propagating, reduces alert-to-reaction time to minutes, prioritises detections based on clients’ critical assets, and provides analytics to Visa’s clients with metrics to bolster their security.
Expel global channel sales and alliances vice president Dan Webb said: “We’re honoured that Visa entrusts us as a customer and recommends Expel as the MDR provider that will help their customers get more actionable insights from their security investments, reduce the amount of time they’re spending investigating threats, and ultimately sleep better at night knowing they have us monitoring and responding in their environments.”
Last month, the global digital payments company invested in cloud-native account-to-account platform Form3 to reduce high levels of fraud and increase operational efficiency in real-time account-to-account payments.
