Vietnam International Bank (VIB) has integrated Amazon Web Services (AWS) Skill Builder in a move to improve the bank’s cloud computing capabilities.
AWS Skill Builder is an online learning centre designed to offer role-based training and learning plans for employees to develop in-demand cloud skills.
Deployed into Vietnam International Bank’s cloud computing training programme, AWS Skill Builder will enable the lender’s workforce to have access to over 600 free courses and learning plans.
Those encompass over 30 AWS services from foundational to advanced levels.
Besides, the bank’s employees will have access to interactive, hands-on courses focused on innovating with AWS Cloud. These courses cover practical applications of artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, security, databases, and storage concepts.
AWS Vietnam country general manager Eric Yeo said: “At AWS, we want to help equip organisations with the skills to leverage the cloud, by empowering learners of all levels to build with confidence, and innovate in the digital world to drive transformation.”
The integration of AWS Skill Builder is part of an ongoing Vietnam International Bank’s cloud first strategy.
Under the strategy, the Vietnamese bank invests in employees upskilling and reskilling.
This helps in addressing the requirements to deliver a modern, safe, and convenient suite of products and services with the best customer experiences, said the bank.
Vietnam International Bank digital banking division head and deputy CEO Tran Nhat Minh said: “Working with AWS on this training project, VIB is invested in developing a high-quality cloud computing workforce through specialised training programs, but also committed to providing modern, safe, and convenient products and services with the best customer experience, affirming VIB’s leading position in technology.”
By utilising the AWS Skill Builder training, Vietnam International Bank aims to offer an extensive cloud training for employees of all levels and backgrounds.
The bank will also provide the opportunity for staff to interact with AWS technologies, learn best practices and use cases to improve technical skills, broaden their knowledge, and stay updated on upcoming trends and innovations.
Vietnam International Bank has started migrating its infrastructure and applications to the cloud since 2020. The bank has introduced more than 10 apps on AWS.
