Oracle Financial Services has expanded its Investigation Hub Cloud Service by incorporating artificial intelligence (AI)-powered agents and automated workflows designed to strengthen financial crime investigations.
The latest enhancements aim to streamline the detection of complex financial crime patterns by automating investigative tasks, allowing financial institutions to improve the efficiency and accuracy of their compliance operations.
The AI-driven agents utilise generative AI to generate narratives that supplement investigators’ assessments, enabling them to focus on high-priority cases.
By automating traditionally manual processes, the new capabilities are expected to enhance the speed and quality of financial crime investigations while reducing the burden on compliance teams.
These features are now available worldwide for institutions of all sizes using Oracle’s Investigation Hub crime and case management platform.
According to Oracle, financial institutions are under increasing regulatory pressure to detect and prevent sophisticated financial crime schemes. Conventional methods often involve manual data collection and analysis, which can be time-consuming, labour-intensive, and susceptible to human error.
Many existing AI-based solutions rely on chatbot interactions that require investigators to phrase queries precisely to retrieve relevant insights.
In contrast, Oracle’s AI-driven agents are said to proactively surface key findings, compile supporting evidence, recommend investigative actions, and generate structured alert summaries. This approach aims to provide a more consistent and reliable method for financial crime analysis.
The AI-powered agents are designed to evaluate alert data, including customer screening matches against sanction lists.
Oracle said that these agents can autonomously generate summaries that consolidate critical alert details, equipping compliance professionals with actionable intelligence to conduct more thorough risk assessments and make informed decisions.
Oracle Financial Services financial crime product strategy head Jason Somrak said: “The addition of agentic AI capabilities to our Investigation Hub Cloud Service represents a paradigm shift in financial crime investigations.
“Our unique generative AI approach follows investigative plans, collects evidence, and recommends actions while providing investigators with robust narratives documenting the findings. This enables firms to drive consistency in decision making and thoroughly investigate all risks automatically while realising massive operational efficiencies.”
