North Carolina deploys Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP to transform finance

Oracle Cloud EPM, which is part of Oracle Cloud ERP, has also supported the US state to streamline complex reporting processes across its agencies while expediting decision-making

North Carolina has deployed Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) to support its mission to safeguard the state’s financial integrity and foster accountability in a fair and efficient manner.

According to Oracle, its Cloud ERP has helped the American state to standardise finance processes in the cloud, enhance efficiency, strengthen controls, and improve its ability to cater to constituents.

Besides, Oracle has enabled North Carolina to manage state-wide financials on a complete, modern, cloud ERP portfolio to increase productivity and improve controls.

In addition, Oracle Cloud Enterprise Performance Management (EPM), part of Oracle Cloud ERP, has supported the US state to streamline complex reporting processes for all its agencies while expediting decision-making.

The deployment of Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP was handled by Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN) member, Deloitte.

North Carolina chief deputy state controller Clayton Darnell said: “We needed a new financial backbone that would free our organisation from IT constraints, improve security, increase flexibility, and deliver a modern user experience.

“With Oracle Cloud ERP, we have standardised finance processes for our state agencies on a single cloud platform, which has enabled us to achieve more efficient and agile operations as we serve the residents of North Carolina.”

Oracle said that its Cloud ERP offers an extensive set of enterprise finance and operations capabilities.

It comprises financials, enterprise performance management, accounting hub, procurement, project management, subscription management, risk management, and supply chain management and manufacturing.

The self-updating platform also enables customers to develop, innovate, automate, adapt, and utilise new business opportunities on-demand.

Oracle applications development executive vice president Rondy Ng said: “To meet constituent demand for fast and reliable services, state agencies need to adapt to new technologies and embrace a continuous innovation mindset.

“With Oracle Cloud ERP, North Carolina now has the financial platform it needs to automate core business processes, unlock new efficiencies, and deliver unparalleled constituent services to the citizens of North Carolina.”
