Infosys has renewed and broadened its strategic collaboration with Allied Irish Banks (AIB) to support the financial institution’s ongoing digital transformation programmes across Ireland and the UK.
The extended agreement builds on a partnership that began in 2015 and sees Infosys take on an expanded role in delivering critical technology services to AIB.
As part of the renewed arrangement, Infosys will provide application development, testing, and support services aimed at enhancing AIB’s IT infrastructure and operational delivery.
The services will be delivered using agile frameworks and automation technologies to drive efficiency and accelerate the development of digital solutions within the bank’s operations.
The collaboration is expected to support AIB’s efforts to modernise its application landscape, while also contributing to improvements in operational processes.
AIB group chief technology officer Graham Fagan said: “This extended collaboration with Infosys aligns strongly with our vision to progressively modernise our technology and data capabilities to deliver the best outcomes for our customers and further accelerate our transformation.
“By combining our collective expertise and experience, we will deliver on our customer-first commitment and enhance operational efficiency and resilience.”
Infosys will be responsible for maintaining and developing the systems that underpin AIB’s core services, positioning the consultancy as a key partner in the bank’s wider transformation agenda.
The partnership between the two companies was initially announced in July 2015, when Infosys committed to investing $10m into Irish start-ups and expanding its presence in Ireland.
As part of that earlier initiative, Infosys established a 200-seat delivery facility in Dublin to house both international and locally recruited talent, with the centre providing support for application development and management services for AIB.
Under the terms of the original agreement, Infosys was designated as a strategic partner for the bank’s technology operations, offering transformation and innovation services while expanding its local workforce in line with regional employment plans.
Infosys executive vice president and banking and financial services global head Dennis Gada said: “Our expanded collaboration with AIB marks a significant milestone in Infosys’ journey in Ireland.
“By leveraging our global digital engineering teams and proven track record in delivery and innovation, we will enable AIB to continue to accelerate their business and technology transformation, strongly positioning them for success in a rapidly evolving banking environment.
“We are committed to fostering a strong relationship, nurturing talent, and contributing to Ireland’s thriving tech ecosystem, while delivering impactful outcomes for AIB.”
