Fujitsu has signed an agreement with Spain-based Informa D&B to generate new value to the business and financial information sector by bringing explainable artificial intelligence (AI) technology (XAI).
Informa D&B delivers commercial, sectorial, financial, and marketing insights on the local business landscape in Spain as well as Portugal.
The company is said to draw on data on seven million economic agents in Spain that are constantly updated by a team of over 200 specialists in data processing and user services.
Under the agreement, Fujitsu will leverage explainable AI technology for processing and analysing large volumes of data. The company will also categorise and provide accurate predictions with full transparency and visibility.
According to the Japanese information and communications technology company, its technology is designed to guarantee trust at each step of the process. It is expected to ensure alignment with the highest ethical and regulatory standards set in the European Union.
Fujitsu Spain president Ángeles Delgado said: “Fujitsu is very pleased to sign this partnership agreement with Informa D&B.
“Through it, an explainable artificial intelligence technology, XAI, will showcase its full potential to Informa’s 4.5 million users in Spain, which is a clear demonstration of what Fujitsu is capable of doing in a differential way.”
The XAI technology provides insights into decisions making processes and confirms anticipated outcomes, identifying biases and outliers or problems that need further investigation.
Its adoption has a number of advantages, including enhancing AI performance and minimising bias issues resulting from data quality assessments, said Fujitsu.
Besides, the XAI technology facilitates auditable accountability and guarantees ethical compliance with industry standards.
Furthermore, it helps to understand the need and method to detect risk or fraud and reduces positive failures by increasing transparency.
Informa D&B CEO Juan Mª Sainz said: “for Informa, the challenge of applying XAI to models in which its Database is the essential element, constitutes a relevant milestone and a qualitative leap in the framework of the solutions we offer our clients.
“For us, innovation, reliability and transparency are essential elements in the construction of all our products and this project meets all these requirements.”
