Fayafi Investment, a UAE-based firm, has launched a new algorithm named MEKKA (Market Emotional Knowledge & Kinetic Analysis) to enhance its investment strategies.

MEKKA, created by the firm’s executive president Patrick Pilati in collaboration with Swiss mathematicians in 2017, is designed to incorporate human emotions and psychological patterns into market analysis.

The algorithm integrates sentiment analysis and artificial intelligence (AI)-driven forecasting to assess and optimise investment decisions. It focuses on understanding investor sentiment and market momentum through Market Emotional Knowledge (MEK) and Kinetic Analysis (KA).

According to Fayafi Investment, the algorithm helps anticipate market shifts by monitoring emotional states in various financial markets, providing visual heatmaps of investor sentiments globally.

Pilati said: “While traditional financial models focus purely on quantitative and fundamental analysis, MEKKA combines psychology, AI, and trading analytics to deliver a more complete understanding of market behaviour.

“By integrating market sentiment analysis, AI-driven behavioural finance models, and predictive trading intelligence, MEKKA enables a more complete understanding of market sentiment. It allows investors to identify opportunities before they gain mainstream attention.”

A key feature of MEKKA is its capability to offer insights into niche investments such as isotope copper. Fayafi Investment holds $3.6bn in copper reserves at Ferrari Logistics DMCC in Dubai and has commoditised these, issuing $1.44bn in security certificates through the SIX Swiss Exchange by February 2025.

In 2025, Fayafi integrated MEKKA into its investment framework to better navigate trends and manage risks. The algorithm aligns commodity investments with market sentiments and aids in liquidity management by predicting emotional market flows.

Future developments for MEKKA include launching automated financial advisers, integrating with blockchain and DeFi technologies, and expanding insights to real estate, venture capital, and private equity markets. Pilati aims to offer MEKKA’s capabilities to investment banks and sovereign wealth funds as a licensed platform.
