Financial services company Ebury has joined forces with Salt Edge, an open banking solutions provider, to expand its open banking presence in the European Union (EU) and the UK.

The partnership will see the integration of the companies’ EU and UK payment services directive 2 (PSD2) application programming interfaces (APIs).

Through the collaboration, both parties aim to improve their visibility, attract new customers and provide existing customers with open banking services.

Salt Edge open banking solutions expert Bodrug Virgiliu said: “Salt Edge is thrilled to support Ebury’s commitment to helping SMEs and businesses streamline and simplify cross-border trade.

“By adding Ebury’s PSD2 API to our network, we enable their clients to securely and seamlessly share account information with ours, eliminating regulatory burdens. Leveraging Ebury’s unique product offering, this collaboration reinforces our shared dedication to delivering innovative and comprehensive financial solutions.”

Established in 2009, Ebury specialises in offering a comprehensive suite of solutions in international payments, FX risk management, and business lending. The company aims to simplify and facilitate global trade, making it more accessible for businesses of all sizes.

The integration with Salt Edge is expected to bolster Ebury’s efforts to support clients in scaling their operations and tapping into global markets.

Besides, Ebury will offer its account holders immediate, compliant access to a broad network of accounting, enterprise resource planning (ERP), and treasury management platforms.

This will be made possible through Salt Edge’s services for automated reconciliation.

Furthermore, the collaboration is set to boost Ebury’s visibility among financial service providers across Europe and the UK.

Ebury group technology director Toby Young said: “Ebury is excited to be working with Salt Edge to extend the benefits of open banking to our UK and EU customers.

“Ebury exists to connect companies to the world and optimise international trade, and our partnership with Salt Edge will simplify our customers’ reconciliation processes,  allowing them to focus on growing their businesses.”

In July this year, Salt Edge partnered with Lithuanian financial technology platform SDK.finance to help customers deliver advanced open banking experiences to their users.
