DataSnipper, a platform for intelligent automation in audit and finance, has acquired artificial intelligence (AI)-native UpLink, a cloud-based secure document request portal, for an undisclosed price.

The company also announced the launch of DocuMine, an AI-powered document validation tool.

The moves aim to strengthen DataSnipper’s vision of creating a comprehensive AI-driven audit ecosystem with global reach. This follows the company’s recent Series B funding of $100m, led by Index Ventures, valuing the firm at $1bn.

The new products, UpLink and DocuMine, aim to address audit complexity by transforming documents into actionable, real-time insights. Leveraging large language models (LLMs) and advanced algorithms, these tools automate document processing and data analysis, allowing auditors to focus more on strategic activities rather than manual data handling.

The innovations are expected to enhance audit workflows, reduce time spent on repetitive tasks, and increase efficiency, while allowing auditors to maintain full control over the processes.

DataSnipper CEO Vidya Peters said: “UpLink and DocuMine together, future-proof the audit value chain, from document intake to data analysis, offering time savings and deeper insights at every step – whether in the cloud-based Prepared by Client (PBC) portal, or in Excel.

“By introducing AI earlier in the process, we give auditors time back to focus on more strategic work.”

UpLink provides an AI-native portal designed to extract insights from extensive client documents, addressing a significant challenge in the audit process involving document collection, review, and testing. It allows auditors to search and query hundreds of documents immediately upon receipt from clients, providing real-time insights.

By using AI at the initial stages of the audit workflow, UpLink aims to enable faster, more efficient validation of information, minimising manual effort and improving accuracy. Integrated within the DataSnipper ecosystem, UpLink is intended to streamline workflows, enabling audit teams to manage the entire process as documents are received in real time.

On the other hand, DocuMine allows auditors to mine, analyse, and verify substantial volumes of documents within Excel.

The tool enables automated validation of critical data, allowing auditors to concentrate on higher-value tasks, such as strategic decision-making. It aims to shift the focus from manually searching for critical information to instant data verification, ensuring that audit evidence is analysed and confirmed efficiently.
