Cognizant has joined forces with customer-owned bank Beyond Bank Australia to modernise the latter’s digital banking operations.

The partnership aims to bolster operational resilience, optimise processes, and enhance the customer experience by deploying advanced technology solutions.

Through the collaboration, Beyond Bank Australia aims to upgrade its end user compute (EUC) systems, automating patch management processes, enabling self-service capabilities, and maximising the value of existing software licenses.

These measures intend to establish a more secure and resilient operational environment for the Australian bank.

Besides, Cognizant will support Beyond Bank Australia in modernising its IT infrastructure by establishing a security operations centre (SOC) and reinforcing vendor assurance frameworks in compliance with Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) standards.

As part of its digital transformation efforts, Beyond Bank Australia will focus on modernising its cloud and application programming interface (API) architecture and executing an enterprise-wide migration to Windows 11.

The upgrades aim to create a scalable, secure, and flexible technology ecosystem, enabling faster introduction of new products and positioning the bank for long-term growth.

Beyond Bank Australia chief information officer Stevie-Ann Dovico said: “Our partnership with Cognizant is pivotal in advancing our digital transformation.”

“Their expertise allows us to modernise our IT infrastructure and enhance security, aligning with our values as a customer-owned bank. Cognizant’s comprehensive approach makes them the ideal partner to help us better serve our customers.”

Cognizant will also help Beyond Bank Australia develop a data and information management strategy leveraging artificial intelligence (AI).

The strategy is designed to optimise structured data from core banking systems and organise unstructured data from knowledge management sources. This approach aims to deliver insights across the organisation and facilitate more tailored customer services.

The partnership also includes efforts to appeal to a younger customer demographic while improving the overall service experience for all customers.

By integrating Cognizant’s banking expertise, Beyond Bank aims to introduce innovative products and services that align with evolving customer needs.

The collaboration comes as customer-owned banks face growing regulatory pressures, economic challenges, and increasing demands for digital transformation.

Cognizant Australia Country Manager Rob Marchiori said: “Beyond Bank is a lighthouse client for us in the customer-owned banking sector.

“By enhancing their digital capabilities, we will help them provide better services to their customers and support paving the way for a resilient banking model that addresses current and future market demands.”
