Class8 has raised $22m in a Series A funding round led by Xplorer Capital with new investor Commerce Ventures joining returning partners Inspired Capital and Resolute Ventures.

The company intends to utilise the new capital to accelerate its efforts in transforming the trucking industry by placing carriers and drivers at the core of decision-making processes.

Xplorer Capital managing partner Jonathan McQueen said: “Class8’s platform is redefining how carriers and drivers connect to data and opportunity.

“Their innovations help trucking businesses navigate complex markets, boosting both profitability and fairness in the industry. We’re excited to support Class8 as they continue empowering carriers and advancing the trucking industry.”

By leveraging original equipment manufacturer (OEM) integrated, artificial intelligence (AI)-powered logistics, Class8 aims to turn trucks into dynamic and profit-generating assets.

Formerly known as FleetOps, Class8 supports carriers and drivers to streamline operations, fuel profitability, and explore the value of data by utilising OEM-integrated technology.

Currently, the company processes more than one billion daily data points from a network of 227,000 trucks.

The company’s solutions are focused on simplifying and empowering trucking businesses, providing carrier-centric tools in an industry that is often subject to constant change.

Unlike tech providers that use vehicle data for tracking or fleet management, Class8 is said to explore the full potential of the data, ensuring it benefits the carriers themselves.

Class8’s platform integrates advanced AI and OEM data to optimise fleet operations, allowing for smarter decision-making and ensuring trucks remain profitable.

Key features of the platform include dispatch optimisation, which automates dispatch updates to eliminate operational uncertainty, and load optimisation, that uses predictive insights from data sources such as SONAR to improve load planning and maximise profit potential.

The company’s tools combine OEM data, freight market intelligence, and operational insights to drive better decision-making, improve driver retention, and respond in real-time to market shifts.

This funding round will help Class8 advance its mission to not only simplify but transform the trucking industry, with a particular focus on rewarding carriers and drivers for their data and contributions.

Class8 CEO Chris Atkinson said: “Our mission is to put the power back in the hands of carriers and drivers.

“This investment allows us to leverage OEM-driven insights to bring carriers clarity, control, and profitability. Class8 flips the script on data by turning it into actionable insights, empowering carriers and drivers to thrive in even the most volatile markets.”
