US-based Citizens State Bank (CSB) has entered into a partnership with Apiture to enhance its digital and mobile banking services for both consumer and business account holders.

The bank will implement the Apiture Digital Banking Platform, including its Consumer Banking, Business Banking, and Data Intelligence solutions, as part of a strategic initiative to strengthen its digital presence and support self-service capabilities.

The initial launch of the updated digital services is scheduled for later in the spring of 2025.

Established in 1913, Citizens State Bank operates as a community-focused financial institution in Ouray, Colorado. The bank cited the growing number of business accounts and the increasing need for more streamlined, flexible banking options as key factors behind the digital transition.

Citizens State Bank president and CEO Alexander Price said: “At Citizens State Bank, we are committed to supporting our community’s economic success by keeping deposits local and investing in the growth of our neighbours.

“Partnering with Apiture allows us to extend this mission beyond our branches, providing customers with secure, intuitive digital banking services that make it easier than ever to bank on their terms, whether in-person or digitally.

“This development will allow us to invest in our business relationships while providing a more integrated and holistic approach to managing financial well-being.”

The integration of Apiture’s solutions is expected to provide advanced cash management and expanded payment functionality, allowing users to manage accounts remotely through digital channels.

The digital platform is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and is designed to maintain high availability, having achieved 99.998% uptime during 2024.

Apiture monitors system performance around the clock, aiming to identify disruptions proactively, including those originating from third-party vendors. With over 200 fintech partnerships and more than 40 core banking integrations, the platform is said to offer scalability and flexibility for institutions seeking to modernise their operations.

As part of the rollout, Citizens State Bank will also deploy Apiture’s Digital Account Opening functionality. This tool enables individual and business customers to open and fund new accounts online without visiting a physical branch.

The feature is intended to reduce onboarding friction and improve access to banking services.

According to Apiture, the digital banking suite is designed to simplify transitions between technology providers and minimise impact on internal systems. The company also claims that the platform supports tailored customer experiences by offering a modular design and integration with fintech applications relevant to specific community needs.

Apiture COO Chris Cox said: “Our award-winning platform will empower CSB’s customers with an intuitive and flexible digital banking experience, ensuring both consumers and businesses have the tools they need to manage their finances how, when, and where they choose.

“Apiture will also allow CSB to provide a best-in-class technology experience, ensuring its customers have access to innovative, user-friendly digital banking solutions that evolve with their needs.”
