Cryptocurrency exchange Bybit has unveiled new peer-to-peer (P2P) trading services with full application programming interface (API) support for certified merchants.
This latest upgrade is designed to simplify operations, automate key processes, and enable higher transaction volumes. It is expected to provide significant benefits to advertisers and merchants on the platform.
The API allows eligible merchants to manage critical and high-frequency P2P operations more efficiently.
Its key features include the ability to create, modify, and monitor advertisements directly via the API, streamlining processes and improving responsiveness to dynamic market conditions.
Additionally, the API supports seamless payment and token transactions, enabling users to place orders, confirm payments, and release assets securely at the API level.
Access to the API is currently reserved for P2P merchants at the VA level or above. To ensure secure integration, users must enable API permissions and generate an API key to facilitate authorised interactions.
Merchants must also adhere to the platform’s API documentation for proper implementation and communication with the system.
By automating manual processes, the API allows merchants to centralise their trading operations, enabling a more agile and strategic approach.
Bybit stated: “Bybit invests in platform improvements to support open, efficient operations that make sense for traders, saving them resources and time. Continuing its tradition of seeking innovative, user-centric solutions, the new feature enables deeper integration and a better user experience.
“By expanding API access, Bybit P2P empowers merchants and advertisers to remain agile and competitive in the dynamic P2P marketplace.”
Established in 2018, Bybit is said to be the world’s second-largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume. The company claims to serve a global community of more than 60 million users.
