National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) has joined forces with German technology solutions provider Software AG to boost the bank’s global digital integration.
In line with this, both parties have signed a five-year partnership agreement.
The collaboration will enable National Bank of Kuwait to leverage the German company’s solution as a unified platform. It will integrate applications and data across the bank’s international locations of Saudi Arabia, UAE, London, Bahrain, Egypt, and France.
Through the alliance with Software AG, National Bank of Kuwait also aims to bolster operational execution efficiencies, which aligns with the bank’s goal to develop digital propositions in its international markets.
National Bank of Kuwait chief operating officer and group operations and information technology head Mohammed Al Kharafi said: “Under this agreement, NBK will obtain the cutting-edge Super iPaaS solution, which will enable integration of applications, data and API management across our international locations, thus enhancing execution efficiencies for our Consumer and Corporate offerings.
“This comes as we develop further our digital propositions into our international markets, marking a pivotal transformation towards increasing our operational efficiency.”
National Bank of Kuwait is said to become the first bank to deploy Software AG’s Super integration platform as a service (iPaaS) solution in the region.
In addition, the collaboration will be the German company’s first Super iPaaS implementation in Middle East and Turkey.
Established in 1969, Software AG is engaged in providing the experiences that employees, partners, and customers want.
The firm’s technology builds the digital backbone that integrates applications, devices, data, and clouds. It also facilitates streamlined processes and connects sensors, devices, and machines.
Software AG ME and Turkey senior vice president Rami Kichli said: “This signing with National Bank of Kuwait is significant for two reasons. First, it extends our robust and successful strategic partnership with Kuwait’s leading bank, which began in 2017, to modernise and refine its digital backbone to also include its international subsidiaries.
“Second, it marks Software AG’s first Super iPaaS implementation in Middle East and Turkey, a milestone that underscores our commitment to innovation.”
