Kyndryl has extended its partnership with National Bank of Canada in a move to expedite digital transformation and cloud migration for the latter.

The IT infrastructure services provider has supported National Bank of Canada’s critical infrastructure for several years and is now collaborating with the bank to transform its environment.

National Bank of Canada technology and operations executive vice president Julie Lévesque said: “The expertise of Kyndryl is a key asset for us.

“The company’s dedication is essential as we strive to maintain our market leadership and adapt to our clients’ evolving needs through our cloud transformation initiatives.”

Kyndryl’s modernisation aims to optimise workloads and operations, reduce technical debt as well as foster innovation across the organisation.

The company’s cloud native operating model is designed to enhance National Bank of Canada’s operational agility.

It will enable the bank to scale up or down its computing resources as per the requirements and help it to introduce products and services faster and easier.

Besides, Kyndryl’s cloud native operating model will help National Bank of Canada in optimising business processes. This will be done by automating and integrating workflows as well as by enabling collaboration and communication among employees.

Kyndryl Canada president Farhaz Thobani said: “We know National Bank’s legacy environment very well. With our Kyndryl Consult team, leveraging our deep hybrid cloud and mainframe expertise, we will help the bank reduce its infrastructure and operational costs, while gaining more flexibility and speed to respond to changing market conditions and customer needs.

“The bank will also be able to leverage the cloud to access new technologies, like artificial intelligence, that can enhance its product offerings and customer experiences.”

In December last year, Kyndryl signed a contract with Unicaja Banco to speed up the Spanish financial institution’s technological transformation. Kyndryl was responsible for the renewal and comprehensive management of Unicaja Banco’s technology platform.
