NatWest Group has expanded its partnership with self-service financial access firm NCR Atleos to modernise its self-service banking operations.

The collaboration is set to transform the British lender’s ATM and multi-function device network, paving the way for enhanced customer experiences and operational efficiency.

As part of this initiative, NatWest is upgrading its network of over 5,500 ATMs and multi-function devices, including those in partnership networks.

The programme involves replacing all NatWest-owned ATMs and multi-function devices with advanced NCR Atleos technology, featuring 19-inch touchscreen displays and an innovative customer interface.

This revamp is designed to streamline NatWest’s branch and self-service operations, optimise availability, and support the faster rollout of new transactions and services.

Through the expanded collaboration with NCR Atleos, NatWest aims to deliver secure, uninterrupted access to cash and essential financial services for the bank’s clients.

It is also expected to bolster the bank’s role as a reliable banking provider to its 19 million customers and wider communities across the UK.

NatWest Group includes multiple brands, namely NatWest Bank, Royal Bank of Scotland, and Ulster Bank.

NatWest Group cash and self service head Richard Talbot said: “NCR Atleos’ flexible, scalable self-service platforms and proven expertise are helping us build the framework that will enable future agility, innovation and growth in the self-service channel.

“We look forward to exploring future self-service innovation with our trusted partners at NCR Atleos.”

Headquartered in Georgia, US, NCR Atleos is engaged in improving operational efficiency for financial institutions. The company also aims to boost footfall for retailers and allow digital-first financial self-service experiences for consumers.

NCR Atleos global sales executive vice president Diego Navarrete said: “As customer expectations for seamless banking interactions continue to grow, financial institutions need the right self-service technology to stay ahead of the curve.

“We are proud to support NatWest Group in their initiative to transform their self-service channels, ensuring secure, convenient and dependable access to cash and financial services for their customers.”
